Olive View Federal Credit Union traces its origins to the Olive View Sanatorium, established in 1920 to care for patients with tuberculosis. As the hospital grew and its services expanded, so did the need for reliable and convenient financial options for its employees.

In 1936, Olive View Federal Credit Union was officially founded to meet that need, serving the staff of Olive View Sanatorium and their immediate families. Over the decades, the credit union’s membership has broadened to include a diverse community of individuals and families connected to Olive View–UCLA Medical Center and affiliated health centers throughout the region.
